Edgewater Technical Associates is Hiring an Inventory and Cataloging Specialist Near Los Alamos, NM

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for an Inventory and Cataloging opportunity in Los Alamos, NM at the Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Per diem available for those who qualify. Local candidate preferred.
Citizenship:United States Citizenship is required
Work Location:100% Onsite
Schedule: Flexibility on work schedule (M-F, 8-5 is the standard)
Clearance:Active “Q” clearance desired, ability to obtain and maintain required.
Education:
Requires a High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum of two years’ related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Skills:
  • Attention to Detail
  • Spreadsheet knowledge (Excel, Access, etc.)
  • Inventory experience and comfortable working with inventory and shipping
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift print materials and/or archival boxes up to 25 pounds.
Description
LANL Research Library is currently working to fully catalog and digitize our historical technical report collection in print format. We need assistance reviewing collection contents for classification, indexing, cataloging, preparing, and storing published technical information in print format. Checking for digital copies in trusted repositories like OSTI.gov or HathiTrust.org by conducting searches following well-established procedures.
Duties
  • Developing or fundamental professional expertise, applying Laboratory policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues
  • Utilizes standard principles, theories, concepts, and techniques as recognized within the records management, archives, or library profession.
  • Provides resolutions to an assortment of problems of moderately complex scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
  • Contributes to the fulfillment of projects and organizational objectives.
  • Continually supervised during training, with regular supervision once trained.
  • Follows established directions. Receives detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.
  • Work is reviewed for accuracy, soundness of judgment, and overall adequacy and while in progress.
  • Uses judgment within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action.
