Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Media Specialist & Technical Writer opportunity located at the Savannah River Site.

Media Specialist & Technical Writer:

The Media Specialist & Technical Writer will support Information Technology (IT) by developing illustrations, audiovisual communications, and textual content in support of Department operations.

Job Duties:

  • Assignments will involve working with Department personnel to identify requirements for and producing communications, selecting appropriate software and developing effective graphics to illustrate technical concepts, and maintaining SharePoint sites and web pages.
  • Assist in development of a wide range of Department documentation to support content appropriate for audiences ranging from end users to upper management.
  • Facilitate planning sessions with customers and offer guidance regarding Media Services capabilities and appropriateness of design decisions.
  • Plan, organize, and direct multi-disciplined media services to produce professional, quality comprehensive products appropriate for Company and Site use.
  • Produce review drafts and incorporate editorial changes for variety of IT products and publications including presentations, written reports, and metrics.
  • Summarize report findings for management and select appropriate mode to present data effectively.
  • Draft reports and provide regular reporting as needed.
  • Develop job aids and supporting documentation and demonstrate administrative tasks to others.
  • Possess a broad understanding of information technology topics and excellent attention to detail.
  • Possess active engagement and collaboration skills to work with groups, management, and customers within and outside of the Department.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in graphic arts or a related discipline with two (2) years of practical experience.
  • An associate degree in graphic arts or related discipline with four (4) years of practical experience.
  • High school diploma with eight (8) years of practical experience.

Required Work Experience/Skills:

  • Two (2) years (4 years, if no degree) with Adobe Creative Cloud including these primary tools: Acrobat Pro DC, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe XD, Lightroom, Animate, Dreamweaver & Premiere Pro.
  • Two (2) years in determining multimedia program requirements to meet informational, promotional, and educational needs.
  • High level of technical understanding and ability to articulate and correspond with technical and non-technical audiences for multi-disciplinary projects led by diverse work groups.
  • Two (2) years (4 years, if no degree) with multimedia and interactive multimedia, preparation of artwork and documentation for printing and/or electronic distribution, graphic layouts, document production, exhibit preparation, video production, artwork design and layout, visual communications, 3-D modeling, illustrating animation, photography, voice-overs to support educational materials, development of posters or other items in support of the Department information booths.
  • Two (2) years reviewing work to identify grammatical/spelling mistakes.

Preferred Experience/Skills:

  • Two (2) years of demonstrated work experience with Camtasia (version 2019 or higher).
  • One (1) year of demonstrated work experience with Storyboarding, Digital Single-Lens Reflex (DSLR) cameras & Studio Lighting.
