Delmar Nursing & Rehabilitation is seeking an Activities Assistant to join our team. We are a skilled Nursing Facility located in Delmar DE, quaint facility nestled in a quiet neighborhood.

Essential Job Functions:

• The Activities Aide is responsible for facilitating a supportive, social atmosphere that promotes a sense of well- being, dignity and purposefulness for the residents in their care.
• Recreation staff are expected to lead planned and spontaneous, group and individual recreation activities/programs as assigned by Activities Director.
• Recreation staff will follow all department/facility policies and procedures to assure that the spiritual, emotional and social needs of all residents are met and maintained.

Special Requirements:

• Posess knowledge of the mental, physical and recreational needs/limitiations of the geriatric population.
• Willingness to work days, evenings, weekends & holidays as requested.
• Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.

Qulifications:

• High school education diploma or GED (required)
• 2 years experience in a long term care facility (preferred)
• 2 years experience in in an activities department in the health care field (preferred) 
• Volunteer or paid experience withe the geriatric population (preferred)
