Job Overview:
We seek a skilled and passionate Head Baker / Pastry Chef to join our team. As Head Baker, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts. Your creativity and attention to detail will contribute to the overall success of our growing bakery.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, cakes, and desserts according to recipes and quality standards
- Decorate cakes and pastries using various techniques, including piping, glazing, and icing
- Ensure proper food handling and sanitation procedures are followed at all times
- Assist in inventory management and ordering supplies as needed
- Collaborate with the team to develop new pastry recipes and menu items
- Package finished products for display or customer takeout
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and offering product recommendations
Skills:
- Proven experience as a Head Baker / Pastry Chef or similar role in the food industry
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, including cake decorating and baking
- Proficient in food preparation techniques, including mixing, measuring, and portioning ingredients
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail - Strong communication skills and commitment to fostering a team environment
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively
- Customer service-oriented with the ability to interact professionally with customers - Excellent knife skills for precise cutting and shaping of pastry dough
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
