Sanitation Manager - $55,000-$70,000 DOE - Gridley, IL

The Role

We are a food manufacturer of freeze-dried products, looking to appoint a knowledgeable and pro-active Sanitation Manager to our growing team.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining overall facility cleanliness and ensuring the production environment meets the highest sanitation standards.

You will oversee and coordinate sanitation activities across three production shifts, ensuring compliance with FDA, SQF, and OSHA requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all facility sanitation activities across three production shifts.
• Schedule, train, and coach all assigned staff to achieve and maintain sanitation objectives.
• Conduct employee performance reviews, adherence to SSOPs, and lead coaching sessions.
• Adhere to and enforce developed cleaning methods and SSOPs designed to eliminate operating problems and improve sanitation efficiency.
• Ensure documentation completion and review, always assuring audit readiness.
• Ensure departmental adherence to HAZCOM and employee health & safety programs.
• Maintain chemical specifications (SDS) and evaluate their effectiveness / proper application for different processing and packaging equipment SSOP's.
• Maintain chemical inventory quantities on an ongoing basis and interact with the chemical supplier for advice on training or issues related to sanitation.
• Oversee the proper dispensing of sanitation chemicals and verify concentration for effectiveness.
• Maintain order, cleanliness, and security of the sanitation chemical storage area.
• Ensure proper disposal of waste material.
• Order PPE supplies for facility to include hard hats, dusk masks, eye & hearing protection, and freezer wear.
• Maintain paper goods and non-chemical inventory of operating supplies.
• Oversee laundering of employee protective wear.
• Build and maintain a Master Sanitation Schedule and related documentation.
• Other assigned duties.
