Eastridge is Hiring a Payroll Manager Near Carson, CA

Eastridge Workforce Solutions is a leading provider of workforce management solutions, dedicated to connecting skilled professionals with rewarding opportunities. Eastridge has partnered with a leading residential plumbing contractor, in the search for an experienced Payroll Manager.

The Payroll Manager will oversee the analysis of weekly and bi-weekly payrolls, ensuring compliance with various wage standards and conducting audits to uphold company policies and regulations. They will handle complex payroll issues, manage payroll reporting, and ensure payments align with legal requirements. Additionally, they will research and interpret regulatory guidelines, manage termination and bonus processes, and supervise a small payroll team while collaborating with HR. Strong communication, customer service, and confidentiality skills are essential for this role.

Essential Functions:

  • Legal Compliance: Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements through ongoing study of legislation, enforcing adherence, and advising management.
  • Payroll Processing: Manages weekly and bi-weekly payroll for over 1,000 employees across corporate and field locations, utilizing various systems (ADP, Spectrum, NOVAtime) to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Data Management: Oversees the collection, calculation, and entry of payroll data, maintaining accurate records of payroll transactions, deductions, and employee information.
  • Tax and Benefits Administration: Determines payroll liabilities, approves tax calculations, and manages deductions for statutory and employee benefits, including insurance coverage and savings deductions.
  • Reporting and Auditing: Prepares and maintains reports summarizing earnings, taxes, deductions, and other payroll-related information, facilitating audits by providing necessary documentation.
  • Payment Distribution: Directs the issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts, ensuring timely and accurate payment to employees, including manual checks when necessary.
  • Confidentiality and Collaboration: Maintains confidentiality of payroll information, collaborates with field and office employees/management to address questions and requests, and contributes to team efforts as needed.
  • System Maintenance and Updates: Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures, and manages the maintenance and input of tax tables.
  • Expertise in Payroll Function: Demonstrates extensive knowledge of payroll functions, including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes, as well as experience with benefits, compensation, and bonus/commission programs.

Education/Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree preferred; 7-10 years of relevant experience; construction industry a plus
  • Working knowledge of regulatory agency, employment/labor law
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong supervisory skills managing a small team within the HR Department
  • Strong multi-tasking, project management ability and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient Computer and MS Office Suite skills, and advanced Excel, ADP, Spectrum and NOVAtime.
