Reporting to the Legal Finance Operations Manager, this role can be based out of Los Angeles, Orange County, New York, or Washington D.C. Responsibilities:

• Alternative Fee Agreements:
• Apply on-account funds received under AFAs towards WIP amounts as appropriate.
• Conduct reconciliations of AFAs and prepare true-up reports as requested by clients or management.
• Volume Discounts:
• Prepare reports on net billed fees and unbilled fees for volume discount thresholds for various clients.
• Coordinate with Pricing Department to complete reconciliations as requested by clients.
• Budget Analysis:
• Utilize Firm resources to prepare budget reports.
• Provide budget reports to billing partners on a regular basis or as needed.
• Partner Inventories:
• Research and settle work-in-progress (WIP) and on-account inventories for partners as requested by Legal Finance Operations Manager.
• Assist management with obtaining information on aged WIP balances and taking appropriate actions against aged balances.
• Coordinate with Billing Team to apply on-account balances towards WIP and outstanding balances.
• Participate in ad hoc projects as requested by Legal Finance Operations Manager.

Qualifications:

• Effective communication with all levels of personnel.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Analytical mindset and ability to understand, execute, and communicate complex fee agreements.

Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of two years prior experience in legal billing, pricing, or finance.
• Strong technology skills, including MS Office Suite (with an emphasis on Excel).
• Ability to leverage technology in work processes.
