The Assistant Principal’s primary job responsibility is the supervision, discipline, and monitoring of students. The Assistant Principal, under the direction of the Building Principal, also implements and enforces school policies and rules for students and staff. Other responsibilities include the following:Assists the principal in the overall administration of the school.Serves as a principal in the absence of the regular principal.Supervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance, and works with the police department (or school resource officer) for investigative follow-up actions.Assists in managing student behavior and maintaining discipline throughout the student body, and works with and assists faculty in the development of effective classroom discipline and organization.Assists in the development and administration of policies involving discipline, conduct, and attendance.Communicates relevant policies and procedures with regard to student discipline, conduct, and attendance to students, staff, and parents.Supervises and evaluates teachers and paraprofessionals assigned by the principal.Assists in the supervision of special events.Supervises in the care and management of the building and grounds, furniture, equipment, apparatus, books, supplies and the supervision of the custodial staff. Assists in coordinating MCAS.Chairs Student Intervention Team, 504 Team and Student Handbook Committee.Fulfills all other duties as assigned by the building principal as deemed in the best interest of the Easton Public Schools.
