POSITION: Accounting Associate
REPORTS TO: Treasurer
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Open until position is filled
STARTING DATE: May 10, 2024 or as soon as available
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma/GED - Post-Secondary degree preferred. Applicant should have accounting experience and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word, and Google Applications. Experience with State Software (USAS-R and EIS-R) preferred. Attention to detail and strong recordkeeping skills are essential, as is excellent attendance. Successful applicant must demonstrate the ability to work with staff and the public in a variety of situations in a positive manner. Successful applicant should be a self-directed individual with ability to work in a team environment. Must successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Works closely with others in the compilation of information for processing accounts payable and maintaining the District’s inventory database, such as collecting information from various departments/buildings and from various sources to obtain invoices to then scan and index to the appropriate purchase order and submit via online workflow for authorization to pay; issue payments to vendors – by check or electronically – and upload files to eVAS and the bank for positive pay purposes. Likewise, information is gathered for entry of inventory of purchased and donated items and disposal entries for Board-approved disposals of items. Information needed for receipt entry to the District’s general ledger are obtained from multiple departments and sources and are uploaded for filing in SCView when entries are made to the general ledger (USAS-R). Invoices are generated for use of facility and other situational billing by the District to outside parties. Other duties as assigned.
SALARY: Placement on the Superintendent/Treasurer Support Staff salary schedule
TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-time with benefits, classified, 8 hours/day, (260 days)
