Easterseals Western and Central Pennsylvania is a organization serving people with disabilities. We are looking to hire a dynamic part-time Direct Support Professional to join our team. The position works out of our office located in York, PA. Workdays are Tuesday-Thursday with flexible daylight hours. 

JOB SUMMARY-Direct Support Professional

The Direct Support Professional provides direct support services and companion services to adults with Autism/Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) for our Community Participation Support program. 

QUALIFICATIONS-Direct Support Professional

• High School diploma/GED
• First Aid/CPR preferred
• Current valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and acceptable driving record obtained through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation required.
• Acceptable Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Clearance required.
• Department of Aging FBI Clearance required if not a continuous resident of PA for three years prior to employment with Easterseals.
• Passing of physical examination and TB required.

JOB DUTIES-Direct Support Professional include:

• Assists individuals in learning and developing new skills that will enhance opportunities for independence and inclusion.
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of the participant and maintain safe environment at all times.
• Assist individuals in all aspects of personal care which includes, but is not limited to: toileting, feeding, bathing, ambulating, range of motion, etc.
• Provide a friendly and stimulating environment for program consumers through tasks such as, but not limited to: greeting participants, assisting in putting on/taking off outerwear, serving food/beverages, engaging in conversation, and facilitating the establishment of relationships with community partners.
• Transport consumers in van or personal vehicle as required.

HOURS-Direct Support Professional

• The hours will depend on the needs of the individual.
• The hourly rate is $17.00.
