QUALIFICATIONS-EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMS SPECIALIST

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; associate degree required.
• Non-Profit employment/rehabilitation experience preferred.
• Computer literacy with working knowledge of computer database and word processing software systems required.
• Excellent communication (verbal/written) and organization skills required.
• Current US driver’s license with acceptable driving record obtained through the Office of Motor Vehicles.
• Acceptable Criminal Record and Child Abuse Checks required.

JOB SUMMARY-EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMS SPECIALIST

The Employment Programs Specialist is responsible and accountable for managing and supervising existing State and Federal contracts employing individuals with disabilities. The Specialist maintains effective and visible relationships with outside agencies. The Specialist supervises the Adult Programs Administrative Assistant and the Boyers Maintenance Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES-EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMS SPECIALIST

• Directs programs on a daily basis. Understands and implements the State Photo License contract and the Federal Custodial contract; maintains good customer relations and regular communication regarding changes and updates to the program
• Check regulatory websites and reviews memos regularly to maintain updates on processes and procedures. Attend meetings and trainings.
• Recruit staff for both programs. Work with regulatory managers to determine staffing needs; preparing employment requisitions; scheduling and conducting interviews; submitting all required documentation to UniqueSource, PennDOT and Easterseals; complete background checks and reference checks on candidates; and coordinate training and start dates. Coordinate all new hire paperwork and conduct new employee orientations.
• Travel to various photo center sites as needed to conduct follow-up with photo technicians. Occasional travel to the Boyers site for meetings as well.
• Provide employment support to the license technicians. Manage, encourage and support them in their work. Assist in problem solving.

HOURS AND BENEFITS-The Employment Programs Specialist is a full-time position working Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30 pm, 35 hours per week. Up to 2 days can be remote if pre-approved. The annual salary is $45,000. The position comes with a full benefit package valued at 6k including health, dental and vision care, matching 403b retirement plan, Paid Time Off, and life and disability insurance. Mileage reimbursement is given for travel to Boyers and Photo Centers.
