Easterseals South Carolina is Hiring an Early Intervention Specialist Near Columbia, SC

Easterseals South Carolina is looking to hire an Early Intervention Specialist in Columbia, SC. The Early Intervention Specialist provides special instruction and service coordination services on behalf of parents/caregivers and their children with developmental delays and/or special needs.

Business hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8:30am – 5:00 pm

Daily travel is required for direct service delivery with caregivers in the client’s home/daycare/community (approximately 5-6 clients per day for an hour each). This is NOT a remote position.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Educate and coach families on effective strategies to help their child reach developmental milestones and improve daily routines.
  • Assist the family in understanding the special needs and development of their child.
  • Engage in Family Training with the caregiver and child in their home or daycare setting.
  • Provide Service Coordination to meet the needs of the child and the family.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an approved Bachelor’s degree or higher in the following: Child/Human Development, Education, Early Childhood, Special Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Elementary Education, Family and Consumer Sciences, Psychology, Public Health, Social Work, or Sociology.
  • Minimum 1-year experience working with children ages 0 – 5 years.
  • CPR certification required.
