Do you want to help make a difference in the lives of individuals in our community by connecting them to employment? Join our Team as a Lead Job Coach/Developer for Easterseals Project SEARCH program.
Snapshot of Key Responsibilities:
  • In this position you will work between two positions as a job developer and job coach. The schedule and times spent in each role will vary depending on current needs of the placement and coaching programs and case load of past student/intern in job development. Will provide daily support to job coaches and assistance in report/paperwork completion.
  • Provide job coaching to students/interns participating in the Project SEARCH program, coaching students/interns as they work in various job rotations at employer job site, assisting in learning new tasks, utilizing training techniques through learning channels such as verbal prompting, visual prompting, forward chaining etc., adapting training techniques based upon individuals served strengths and needs
  • Assessing work strengths and weaknesses, dealing with and responding to job related issues, implementing job modifications/accommodations and providing employer education and assistance with management and coworkers
  • Assisting students/interns in completing work assignments if and when they are unable to independently perform tasks
  • Performing detailed task analysis on all job duties to ensure appropriate assignment of students/interns, creating and implementing task analysis at each site/job rotation area to meet criteria of Project Partners expectations
  • Responsible for supporting part time coaches daily at Project SEARCH sites
  • Provide job placement/development services to Project SEARCH students/interns towards the end of the school year, such duties will include: create and update student/intern resumes as needed, develops job placement plan with student/intern, completes job readiness assessment form and mock interview when beginning job development activities, educating and working with interns by helping them with identifying job leads, teaching resume writing techniques, teaching interviewing skills and assisting with the application process, accompanies student/interns to employment sites and assists with communicating with managers, completing applications, scheduling interviews, and provides support through the interview process as needed, contacting employers/companies to seek job openings
  • Schedule and establish appointments and represent program through presentations to employers, establishing, creating and securing jobs for students/interns by following up with employers, setting up student/intern interviews and remaining in contact with company representatives
  • Transports students/interns to employment sites and when performing field activities such as taking individuals served to and from project search job site(s), application process and/or or visits to employers
  • Make monthly cold calls to employers to investigate job openings/leads. Contacts and documents these calls for monthly report to referring counselor.
  • Responsible for keeping accurate records by completing and maintaining required documentation including case notes, monthly reports, intake forms, activity logs, unified written plans, student/intern reports, TACS information and discharge summaries, completing accurate and timely daily and weekly progress notes using RSC required documentation and compile information at end of each month
Minimum Qualifications Include:
  • High School Diploma with 6 to 9 months of job placement or sales experiences and up to one year job coaching experience
  • Knowledge of interventions strategies, emotional, mental and physical disabilities, or training methods; vocational and habilitation programming; general principles and methods of leading a job search; labor market
  • Ability to negotiate and obtain jobs for individuals with disabilities
  • Proficient in computer software, applications and programs
  • Excellent communication & problem solving skills
  • Flexibility in work schedule & job tasks
  • Demonstrate time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to drive all around tri state area to job sites etc.
  • Valid driver’s license & insurance & a good driving record
