YOUR LIFE AS A SCHOOL SPEECH PATHOLOGIST
This full-time speech pathology position in human services works the day shift during school hours.
As a School Speech Pathologist at our school, you're responsible for evaluating communication skills, including receptive language, expressive language, articulation, voice, fluency, oral motor skills, and hearing. You develop comprehensive service plans according to program policies and regulations, such as school or outpatient programs. As outlined by the treatment plans, you provide therapy geared toward treating communication disorders. You instruct and counsel students, clients, or their families regarding the specific nature of their communication impairments and how to best cope in various speaking situations.
In addition, you attend individual education plan (IEP) meetings, staffing, case conferences, and department meetings. You maintain appropriate records, such as progress notes, reports, evaluations, plans, case conference reports, and discharge summaries. As needed, you receive and track insurance authorizations as well as complete departmental program evaluations in accordance with policies and procedures. You also function as a case manager to help with coordinating and obtaining other services as well as supervise our clinical fellowship staff. Your expertise in speech therapy contributes to our nonprofit in such a big way, and it brings you great fulfillment to know you serve in such an important role!
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
At least three years of speech pathology experience working with young children is preferred but multiple factors will be taken into consideration. If you can meet these requirements and perform this job as described above, we would be happy to have you as part of our team!
