Easterseals Blake Foundation is Hiring an Early Intervention Specialist (Tucson) Near Tucson, AZ

Description

Welcome to the award winning Behavioral Health Division of the Easterseals Blake Foundation!

Easterseals Blake Foundation Behavioral Health programs have been recognized as a Center of Excellence in southern AZ by our Regional Behavioral Health Authority

The Early Intervention Specialist (EIS) will provide developmental monitoring, behavior support, parenting guidance, and support services to children birth through 5 years old and their families or caregivers in-home. The EIS also coordinates communication between the member and other providers or community agencies to ensure coordination of care. The EIS will be under the direct supervision of the Early Intervention Program Coordinator.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with clinical staff implements components of the child’s Individualized Service Plan with consideration for the family’s unique needs, strengths and goals.
  • Complete developmental screening and assessments of the child to guide treatment and recommendations.
  • Implements behavior support strategies, caregiver guidance, education, and support services based on the specific needs of the child and family.
  • Encourages and models appropriate early childhood practices, parenting skills and behavior support techniques.
  • Assist in developmental monitoring and referring for appropriate services if indicated
  • Assists members in securing necessary behavioral health services from EBF or other appropriate providers.
  • When indicated in member's service plan will provide support services that include: case management, family support, family counseling, and assessment services to enrolled members.
  • May provide individual, family, and/or group counseling based on needs
  • Performs solution-focused interventions.
  • May conduct updates on annual assessments, and develop treatment plans
  • Maintains member records in accordance with agency and funding source requirements.
  • Provides complete documentation and reporting of member behavioral health services in accordance with agency and funding requirement.

Comply with State, Federal and Other Relevant Regulation/Requirements –

  • Report suspected neglect/abuse to Department of Child Safety and supervisor, complete required documentation.
  • Comply with privacy laws and requirements under HIPPA regulations.
  • Follow all safety procedures required by EBF.

Requirements

or equivalent combination of education and experience

Education

  • Master’s degree in a behavioral health related field; or Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health related field and two years behavioral health work experience.

Experience –

  • Two years behavioral health work experience preferred.
  • Spanish speaking preferred, not required.

Regulatory –

  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Clean criminal background check and the ability to obtain and maintain a level one clearance card.
  • Must have a valid, unrestricted Arizona Driver’s License, good driving record, and be at least 21 years of age as required by corporate fleet policy.
  • Must possess a valid AZ DPS Level 1 fingerprint clearance card.

Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Understanding of family systems, child development and experience providing behavior support and training to caregivers.
  • Background in child development or early childhood education preferred.
  • Strong Clinical knowledge.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with well-developed problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, project management and multitasking skills.
  • Skill in using business software such as email, MS Office, smart phones, office equipment and electronic health records.
  • Extensive knowledge of managed care systems, AHCCCS/Title XIX medical assistance screening, and RBHA policies and practices.
