Easterseals Blake Foundation is Hiring an Area Program Manager (Safford) Near Safford, AZ

Description

Easterseals Blake Foundation is a non-profit organization serving individuals with developmental and/or physical disabilities. The Program Coordinator will be responsible to the Director and be responsible for the daily supervision and oversight of Graham and Greenlee programs and complying with State Licensing requirements.

This position will provide administrative and program support. The Area Program Manager will provide direct care as needed, perform administrative duties, carry a phone and is required to work flexible hours.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and oversight to the programs and staff including Program Coordinators, Managers, Supervisors, and Direct Support Professionals.
  • Coordinate with Director and Human Resources (HR) when conducting interviews, observations, evaluations, disciplinary actions, and providing feedback on performance. Ensure all supervised staff have completed required trainings within the required time frames.
  • Lead and supervise subordinate personnel including: hiring, determining workload, delegating assignments, monitoring and evaluating performance and initiating corrective or disciplinary actions.
  • Oversight of program vehicle schedule and use. Ensure oil changes, routine maintenance and documentation is maintained and up to date. Ensure documentation is submitted within established timeframes.
  • Responsible for the oversight and implementation of EVV. Ensure all employees are trained and compliant with the EVV system.
  • Conduct monitoring and supervisory visits for in home services.
  • Ensure that all service billing is accurate and submitted timely.
  • Manage staffing and scheduling efforts to ensure adequate shift coverage.
  • Ensure the rights, health and safety of the people supported in assigned programs at all times.
  • Directs, develops and oversees in home service programs in accordance with strategic plan, policies and procedures, legal and licensing requirements, in a manner which ensures both quality, affordable service to persons served and fiscal viability.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of emergency procedures.
  • Participates in on-call coverage as a last resort, covers supports as needed.
  • Assures that member files are up to date by conducting file audits, while providing feedback to Program Coordinators. Work with teams to develop individualized support plans and training strategies, assisting them to communicate their needs and concerns, and promoting and monitoring the progress. Ensure all forms are kept up to date at member’s home.
  • Assists with conducting quality reviews for the homes and develops corrective action plans for identified gaps.
  • Oversee, monitor, and ensure compliance with all services including plan development, staff training, plan implementation, and data collection and documentation.
  • Ensure quarterly staff meeting are being conducted.
  • Maintain good working relationships with professionals, staff, families and persons served. Problem solve in a professional, non-hostile manner. Offer options and solutions and give feedback in a constructive manner. Provide regular and ongoing communication to the families, and provide support and assistance addressing questions and concerns regarding services and agency protocols.
  • · Build and maintain relationships with community providers including care coordinators, vocational and day services, and recreation programs.
  • Advocate for and monitor opportunities for community inclusion for people supported in assigned programs.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate reporting and documentation of incidents per regulatory requirements and agency policies to the appropriate agency leadership and appropriate oversight agencies.
  • Ensure appropriate funding is secured for all consumers.
  • Ensures compliance with all agency policies and procedures, as well as state & federal statutes and regulations related to specific program areas
  • Identify persons to serve in the Supported Living, Day Program, Transportation and Employment Services through home visits, evaluations and service providers.
  • Attend team meetings
  • Other duties assigned by Director.

  • Sensitivity to cultural diversity and differences.
  • Ability to complete job responsibilities autonomously without constant oversight.
  • Demonstrate initiative and follow-through in carrying out responsibilities. Demonstrate willingness to accept new responsibilities, accept change and take on responsibility with minimum direction.
  • Strong leadership skills and an ability to work in a collaborative manner with agency staff, families, and the people supported.
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
  • Capacity for mature judgment and ability to handle emergencies in a professional manner.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate degree in related field or 3 years’ experience in management of IDD service delivery.
  • Clean criminal background check and the ability to obtain and maintain a level one clearance card.
  • Maintain current CPR, First, Aid, Article IX, and Prevention & Supports certification, EBF provides this training.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.

Physical requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position, stoop, squat, reach, stretch, ascend/descend stairs, operate a computer, phone and other office equipment, wheelchair brake, lifts, etc. support individuals with developmental disabilities, communicate with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Must be able to distinguish smells such as gas and other noxious fumes.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to remain calm, non-defensive with a supportive attitude during stressful, potential crisis, and crisis situations.
  • Must be able to manage high volumes and unpredictability of work.
  • Must be able to remain flexible and reprioritize according to the changing demands of the day.
  • Must be able to manage stress in a fast - paced, unpredictable, and high intensity setting.
  • Must be able to adapt to diverse cultural environments and communicate in a culturally inclusive manner.
  • Must be able to represent EBF in a professional manner in all situations.
