Description

Summary: The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) position is responsible for the behavioral health services, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment, in a pediatric residential facility for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Key responsibilities include providing support and behavior health services to individuals served by developing behavior plans, providing individual and group therapy, and coordinating, behavior health care with the facility’s Medical Director and other professionals.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide screenings, assessments, consults, supports and interventions to a diverse population in a pediatric residential setting for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities including crisis intervention.
  • Observe behavior of each individual served to identify those in need of psychological or psychiatric services and to create a behavioral profile where applicable.
  • Where applicable and as allowed per license, diagnose individuals served with a behavior disorder that best suits the individual’s clinical presentation.
  • Develop and implement treatment plan based on assessment of individual’s behavior health needs. This includes training behavior technicians and other staff on plan to ensure consistency in responding to and addressing the behavior health needs of the individual.
  • Work collaboratively with the facility’s medical director and other CRC departments to ensure a holistic health care. Consult with doctors, therapists, other medical professionals, and the team of the individual served for additional input and direction.
  • Provide traditional counseling services and support to individuals served and family members.
  • Develop and maintain familiarity with related psychopharmacology.
  • Review and compile behavior incident reports and collect monthly data on behavioral objectives. Submit data to the CRC qualified intellectual disabilities professional (QIDP) by the 10th of each month.
  • Thoroughly, accurately, and promptly document all service rendered in the medical record for every individual served.

Resource and Referral Coordination Responsibilities

  • Coordinate referrals for outside services.
  • Remain current and knowledgeable about local and regional resources for mental health, developing collaborative relationships where possible.
  • Participate in outreach educational activities in the community as needed.
  • Provide training to families regarding resources available to them and their child.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with community partners including referral sources, volunteers, and families of individuals served.

Education/Training Responsibilities

  • Provide psychoeducational information as appropriate for individuals served, family members or accompanying caregivers.
  • Oversee behavior crisis prevention and intervention training program for new hires as well as annually for all staff
  • Provide training to staff as needed on various topics related to psychological, behavior and emotional disorders including presentation and management of the disorder.
  • Educate individual served and staff, including family, on behavior plan for applicable individual served to ensure compliance inside the facility, on outings, and on home visits.
  • Create and implement Family/caregiver training and education opportunities.

Management Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with CRC Director, develop annual psychology department operating and capital budgets and manage department expenses accordingly
  • Oversite of contracts for psychological evaluations.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects as assigned.
  • Serve on Admission Review Committee, Quality Assurance Committee, and other committees as assigned. Attend individual program plan (IPP) conferences and weekly interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings.
  • Chair Human Rights Committee. Ensure meetings occur on regular schedule with documented attendance, agenda, and meeting minutes.
  • Participate in all meetings and trainings as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises Behavior Technicians and/or Mental Health Technicians. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities related to supervision and management of staff includes interviewing; hiring; training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; and proactive corrective action and discipline; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

While performing the duties of this job, employee will comply with all federal, state and local laws and regulations pertaining to Easterseals Arkansas.

Employee has access to all client protected health information within his/her program. Employee will not attempt to access any other protected health information unless otherwise approved by Supervisor or Privacy Officer.

Qualifications


Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

Master’s degree in social work required. Current Licensed Clinical Social Worker Arkansas licensure required. Two (2) years job-related and supervisory experience required. Thee (3) years clinical experience required. Working knowledge of Medicaid and PASSEs preferred. Experience with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities preferred.

  • Strong computer skills to use email, calendar, word processor, spreadsheet, video conferencing, and presentation software.

  • Ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload.
  • Ability to develop both the members of a team as well as the team itself.
