Functions
Enter data from source documents into the computer. Examine contents of delivery vehicles and compare with records. Work in both an office and shop/yard environment. Pull and Stock Material. Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Reporting Relationship
Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent plus two years of data entry experience, and three or more years of shipping and receiving experience desired. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Knowledge of general office practices such as typing, filing, and bookkeeping desired.
Required
Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship or a Permanent Resident Card is required.
Desired
Skills: Intermediate to advanced level Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook Express. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, employees, and vendors. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure. Knowledge of the safe operation and use of hand and power tools desired.
Working Conditions
The work environment characteristics described here represent those an employee encounters while performing this job's essential functions. The employee may be exposed to the risk of electrical shock, moving mechanical parts, vibration, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, continual loud noise, and other hazards found in a heavy industrial shipyard environment. Rigorous compliance with safety procedures, policies, and personal safety equipment requirements is therefore mandatory.
