Job Description

Functions: Electrical, Electronics, or Combat Systems Engineer that supervises an engineering group in the development of the detailed design and technical support, to include the investigation and resolution of system interface issues, for the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5I) systems. Responsible for the development of the detailed design, integration, and 3D model of marine craft’s C5I systems.

  • Designing and developing C5ISR systems to meet specific military or defense requirements.
  • Implementing software applications and interfaces for data processing, analysis, and visualization.
  • Integrating different sensors, communication devices, and platforms into a unified network.
  • Ensuring the security and resilience of C5ISR systems against cyber threats and attacks.
  • Conducting testing and validation to ensure system functionality and reliability.
  • Providing technical support and troubleshooting for C5ISR systems in the field.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including military personnel, other engineers, and developers.
  • Staying up to date with the latest advancements in C5ISR technologies and incorporating them into system designs.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Lead a team of engineers and designers to develop and manage the design of a major Government Program. Responsible for the design and subcontractor management of the C5I systems.

  • Directly and/or indirectly supervise employees assigned to the C5I Group. 
  • Directly managing sub-contractors and vendor performance.
  • Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required.

Reporting Relationship

  • This position will report to C5ISR Engineering Group Manager
Job Requirements

Qualifications

Education/Experience: Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Engineering Technology, or similar discipline. Experience on a maritime vessel preferred but not required. An equivalent combination of education or experience may be considered.

Required: Skills: Intermediate level Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook experience required. Ability to read and interpret documents such as general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior management, employees, and the public. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal or diagram form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to work in a fast- paced environment, display an attention for detail, and function as a team player.

Other Requirements: Combination of government and shipyard experience in large government shipbuilding (design/build) program preferred, other major defense programs will be considered.. Experience working within he Earned Value Management Systems is also a plus.

Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Card required.

Security: Active security clearance preferred, eligible for security clearance required.

This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.

  • Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night
  • Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the work place
