Position Summary:

In this role, you'll:

  • Craft print and digital designs, sharing our brand's story.
  • Join a passionate and warm Marketing team, creating compelling design pieces that align with our brand.
  • Focus on projects for the Office of the President, Office of Advancement, and the Office of Marketing & Communications, including fundraising campaigns and leadership communications in both print and digital formats.

Hybrid Schedule: Enjoy the flexibility of remote work on Mondays and Fridays, and collaborate with the team on campus from Tuesday to Thursday. This balance encourages both independent creativity and team synergy. Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the Marketing Team and other offices to develop design solutions and then translate those solutions through a variety of channels (annual reports, brochures, flyers, pitch decks, digital communications, etc.)
  • Stays current to industry trends and maintains cutting edge design knowledge.
  • Works with the Brand Design Director to ensure that a brand style and look is maintained throughout the creative process.
  • Creates graphics and artwork to enhance the visual effects and style of presentation and convey the project's message effectively.
  • Proofreads artwork at all stages of production with meticulous attention to detail, working in collaboration with others to ensure accuracy and implement changes.
  • Participates in conceptualization meetings designed to generate new ideas through discussion, and to develop these ideas into viable projects or promotions.
  • Collaborates with staff to develop new, creative concepts for each project, including visual effects and style of presentation. Makes creative decisions concerning graphics and artwork.
  • Communicates directly with managers in the Office of University Marketing & Communications, Office of the President, and Office of Advancement to keep them updated on the progress of current creative projects.
  • Demonstrates a consistent positive attitude to support a productive work environment. Cooperates, communicates, and works well with coworkers. Treats all employees and customers respectfully.
  • Coordinates all the details of the production process, including creating job folders and production schedules; obtaining competitive bids from printers and other vendors; monitoring scheduling and delivery; troubleshooting problem areas of production. Coordinates approvals, revisions, and billing with campus clients.
  • Embodies values of caring and compassion, justice and integrity, competence and affirmation.
  • Seeks to treat each member of the campus community with fairness, dignity and respect seeking a spirit of unity and harmony as we join together to achieve our common mission.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A college degree or equivalent experience, with continuing education in relevant software preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in graphic design using software including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Thorough knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with Apple software preferred. HTML skill is a plus.
  • Strong creative, communication, organizational, problem solving, and time-management skills. Works well with tight deadlines in a team environment.
  • Experience working for a university or creating content for fundraising campaigns is a asset.

In accordance with state laws, Act 73 of 2007, Act 153 of 2014, Act 168 (relating to the Child Protective Services Law), school employees of Eastern University who will have "direct contact with children" must complete the background check process prior to employment. Results must be submitted within ten days of receipt.
