Easter Seals is looking for PART TIME: Program Support Trainers!

Part time Direct Support Professionals.

Skills Required:

  • Passion for helping others

  • Basic knowledge of computers and familiarity with Microsoft Word and e-mail use

Adult day programs are person-centered and designed to offer assistance and training in the areas of social, recreational, educational, vocational, and community access to maximize independence.

Day Programs are structured in either 1:3 or 1:4 staff to individual ratios. All Day Program staff lead classes/activities, help individuals with personal care support if needed, and help individuals access their community in a meaningful way.

As Program Support Trainer you will maintain a caseload of 1-3 individuals as needed. Duties associated with that responsibility include:

  • Work with individuals served and the Planning Team to develop a Person-Centered Plan.
  • Responsible for assuring that people served are happy with their services and receiving all supports as agreed in their Person-Centered Plan.
  • Daily documentation/case noting on the progress of individual goals and objectives.
  • Assure Annual and Semi-annual reports are submitted to Regional Center for all individuals on the caseload.
  • Act as a primary liaison/consultant to clients’ Planning team.

  • Organized - able to multi-task and work with up to 3-4 people at a time.
  • Ambitious – willing to learn and expand skills.
  • Assertive - able to ask for help when needed.
  • Good judgment and moral compass – being an advocate for others and understanding that you are working with people who may not be able to speak up for themselves.
  • Passionate – willing to bring your unique talents to the table and share them (i.e. artists, creators, tech skilled, athletes, gardening, musicians, etc.).
  • A good sense of humor!
  • Optimistic and positive outlook on things.

Education and/or Experience

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED is recommended.
  • One (1) year full time experience working with individuals with physical and/or developmental disabilities.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Position Requires:

  • Valid Adult CPR with AED & Basic First Aid certificate upon hire date.
  • Fingerprint clearance.
  • TB test within the past twelve (12) months.
  • Passing Physical/Back Assessment

Salary: starting at $18.00/hour. Opportunity for pay increase to $19.00/hour after completion of all new hire training and initial training period (6 months). Employees must demonstrate competencies in the position and be in good standing to receive the increase.

25 hours per week. Opportunity for growth.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-2:00pm. No evenings/weekends

Location: Sacramento (Arden-Arcade area) or Citrus Heights
