Augmentative Communication (AAC) Specialist

Full Time – 35 hours/week

General Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide Augmentative Communication services to children and adults in a variety of settings. Services include providing evaluations, equipment set up, and training clients and their communication partners 
  • Actively seek out new information regarding technology, strategies, and approaches in the area of Augmentative Communication and maintain that knowledge through continuing education. 
  • Complete required documentation including reports and monthly notes in a timely manner as required by contracts

Mentorship / Professional Growth

  • Mentoring and supervision available
  • CEU reimbursement to attend courses or participate in degree programs that further professional growth. 
  • Opportunities for career advancement by becoming a mentor, supervising a Speech Clinical Fellow, supervising Speech-Language Assistants, providing ESMA staff training, etc. 

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Valid/current professional license as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Massachusetts
  • Past experience with providing AAC services and supporting users
  • Ability to travel to/between multiple work locations
  • Must be able to transport and deliver equipment
  • Must pass extensive background checks and provide professional references
  • If selected for hire, candidates must be able to provide a recent physical indicating the ability to perform the essential functions of the job either with or without accommodations, proof of
     negative TB test, and required immunizations (including fully vaccinated status for Covid-19).
