Overview

Responsible for accurately processing funds transfer requests from customers; including verification, data input, research and any required follow-up. Maintain and updated Funds Transfer Authorization file. Maintain daily wire files.

Responsibilities

  • Log funds transfer requests received via the fax or email.
  • Contact an authorized representative of the requesting company to verify outgoing funds transfer request.
  • After wire is verified, key enter the funds transfer authorization into the Wire Transfer system.
  • Contact customers, as requested, of incoming wires as they are received.
  • Inquiry on the Payplus System, as needed, to research outgoing or incoming funds transfer.
  • Balance daily wires processed by unit and wire room.
  • Photocopy all incoming/outgoing wire notifications for mailing.
  • Bundle and file the day’s logs, customer requests, incoming/outgoing wire notifications and miscellaneous wire related forms.
  • Maintain and file customer Funds Transfer Authorization forms and miscellaneous Funds Transfer related documentation.
  • Miscellaneous customer service responsibilities, including accepting and processing account transfers, stop payments and telephone inquiries.
  • Provide proficient, courteous and exceptional customer service by telephone.
  • Identifies and pursues cross selling opportunities by explaining additional products and services to customers or potential customers.
  • Assist with various reports for the department.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Have an understanding of the Wire Transfer Process and a minimum of 2 years Customer Service or related banking experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimal. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms.

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is USD $19.00/Hr. - USD $22.00/Hr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
