Until Filled The East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) is a public Career and Technical Education District (CTED) providing tuition-free career and technical education (CTE) programs to high school students – public, charter, and home-schooled – and tuition-based programs to adults who reside in 11 school districts in the East Valley of the Phoenix metropolitan area.
EVIT offers over 40 CTE programs at four centralized campuses. Centralized campus programs provide two to four hours of hands-on training every day and prepare students for professional certification and licensing exams. EVIT students who complete their training have a 98 percent high school graduation rate and 90 percent on average are in jobs related to their training, college or the military within a year. Two out of three EVIT students go on to college.
Applications are being accepted for the position of Payroll Specialist with the East Valley Institute of Technology. The starting date is approximately
Aug 1, 2023. The beginning hourly salary range for this position is approximately $25.00 - $27.00 dependent upon education and like experience. This is a full-time 12 month position.
Job Summary:
Under general supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the Payroll and Benefits Specialist will ensure accurate processing and recording of district’s payroll, provide timely and accurate financial information, participate in data entry Payroll processing in accordance with federal, state and county requirements and regulations. The Payroll and Benefits Specialist will also be responsible for the administration of employee benefits, provide expertise and insight an employee benefits.
Qualifications:

• Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by college level course work preferably in accounting; and
• Three to five years of increasingly responsible accounting and clerical experience related to fund accounting procedures and payroll; or
• An equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in Visions Software preferred
