Closing Date: Until Filled The East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) is a public Career and Technical Education District (CTED) providing tuition-free career and technical education (CTE) programs to high school students – public, charter, and home-schooled – and tuition-based programs to adults who reside in 11 school districts in the East Valley of the Phoenix metropolitan area. EVIT offers over 40 CTE programs at four centralized campuses. Centralized campus programs provide two to four hours of hands-on training every day and prepare students for professional certification and licensing exams. EVIT students who complete their training have a 98 percent high school graduation rate and 90 percent on average are in jobs related to their training, college or the military within a year. Two out of three EVIT students go on to college. Applications are being accepted for the position of Adult Education Adjunct Instructor for College Math Courses with the East Valley Institute of Technology. This is a part-time (8 week sessions; 3 credidt load) postion located at our Main Street campous located in Mesa, AZ. 2 days per week, hours are 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The salary for this position is $1500 / per load credit ($4500 for the 8 week course). Job Summary: The Adjunct Instructor will join a dynamic academic team at EVIT and provide competent classroom and laboratory instruction in their area of credentialed expertise. The Adjunct Instructor will teach students who come from diverse backgrounds. This position is part-time and will teach in a general classroom setting, online or hybrid setting and will support EVIT’s mission to provide high-quality education. Under the general supervision of the Director, the Adjunct Instructor will work with students to provide them knowledge and training they need to be successful in their chosen career. This position will continually assess and enhance the curriculum to meet EVIT’s educational requirements, the students’ needs while adhering and following all rules and regulations of our accrediting organizations; thus, ensuring high academic standards at all times. Qualifications:
Prior teaching experience in the content field, preferred.
Bachelor's degree in their content or related field.
15 credit hours in math, transcripts wil be required
Strong passion for teaching and interacting with students.
Licensing / Certification and Other Requirements:
Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Identity Prints (IVP) fingerprint card. Applicable Arizona Statuites pursuant to title 15 (Education) and Title 13 (Criminal) and Tilte 38 (Public Officer and Employees) prevail.
Prooof of immunization against or immuntiy to measles, mumps and rubellsa (MMR) if born after January 1, 1957.
