HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL
Qualifications:
● Master’s degree in Educational Administration, Educational Leadership, or related field
● Valid State of Michigan Administrative Certificate (ES) (or eligibility to obtain)
● Valid State of Michigan Teaching certificate
● Minimum of three years of successful secondary school administrative experience (preferred)
● Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience
● Understanding of International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (preferred)
● Successful experience with building level leadership and/or committees
● Understanding of diverse learners and experience with MTSS and progress monitoring
● Experience building course schedules and co-curricular activities
● Proven leadership ability in building relationships with all stakeholders, inspiring teachers around a common vision,
and achieving transformative goals for students, families, staff, and administration
● Experience in supervisory responsibilities, which include budgetary oversight, supporting professional development
for assigned staff, evaluating, addressing complaints, and resolving problems
● Proven commitment to continuous improvement, using relevant data, and providing/receiving feedback
● Ability to lead faculty, staff, and students through the implementation of curricular and programmatic objectives
● Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of systems that support special education and Section 504
● Evidence of instructional leadership and fostering a positive and innovative teaching and learning environment
● Effective listening, verbal, and written communication skills with diverse stakeholder groups
● Strong commitment to equity, social justice, and inclusion in all practices
● Knowledge of and experience in Restorative Practices
● Demonstrates collaborative leadership, including well-organized, creative thinker, and flexible team player with
excellent administrative skills
Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience
Start Date: July 1, 2024
Contract: 260 contract days
