Job Title: Accompanist

Reports to: Director of Bands

Summary:

Serve as accompanist for Performing Arts Department and campus events. This is a 10 month position.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serve as accompanist for choirs, applied lessons, rehearsals for juries, and rehearsals for recitals.

• Accompany students at weekly recital lab.

• Serve as accompanist for special events on campus (such as Commencement and guest artist performances).

• Keep inventory of pianos along with regularly setting up tunings and maintenance visits from piano technician.

• Weekly music preparation.

• Teach up to 12 credits per year, if qualified.

II. Technical Competencies:

• Experience at either the Secondary or University level accompanying choirs, students in applied lessons, recitals, contests, and with opera or musical ensembles.

• Detail oriented.

• Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines.

• Able to communicate effectively and build rapport with students, faculty and staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in music, degree in piano performance or accompanying preferred.

Salary Range: $34,000 - $35,000 (Commensurate with qualifications and experience)
