Location: Central Office Summary: Under general supervision, individual provides direction to the safeguarding of assets held by individual schools and to the maintenance of their accounting systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for reviewing and monitoring the Monthly Bank Reconciliation reports and associated fiscal records for all schools and advising Executive School Secretaries of discrepancies.
Corrects errors and discrepancies; as well as, assists Executive School Secretaries in the resolution of discrepancies within their Monthly Bank Reconciliation reports and associated fiscal records.
Assisting and advising Executive School Secretaries with questions regarding the Administrative Guidelines
Trains all new Executive School Secretaries in the EPES Financial system and School Accounts policies.
Utilizes spreadsheets and word processing software to maintain files of Monthly Bank Reconciliation reports and retrieves all requested data from the Internal Auditor and School Accounts Auditors.
Responsible for entering financial data into the EPES Financial system during the short-term absence of an Executive School Secretary at a school sate.
Receives all correspondence from Executive School Secretaries.
Responsible for all in house school financial records within both the Internal Audit and School Accounts departments.
Prepares and collects all payroll data for both the Internal Audit and School Accounts departments.
Responsible for the training and supervision of the Internal Audit student worker.
Assist in the year-end audit review of the schools' fiscal records.
Performs all other duties as assigned by the Internal Auditor.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE A high school education, supplemented by course work in accounting or bookkeeping; two years of progressively responsible experience in financial record keeping; or any combination of training and experience that could provide the desired knowledge and abilities. Individual must have a working knowledge of: Principles, methods, practices, and procedures of bookkeeping and financial record management. Knowledge of accounting terminology, concepts, and practices. Operation of computer and business office machines and equipment.
