Payroll Representative: Full Time

Objectives of this role:

• Oversee all aspects of payroll processing for the company and its subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with any applicable local, state, or federal wage rate requirements
• Maintain equipment and pit material records for the company and its subsidiaries

Responsibilities:

• Review, code, and enter all payroll into accounting system and workbooks
• Maintain employee records and deductions, including medical, dental and life insurance, and 401k contributions
• Prepare and upload weekly 401k contributions to 401k provider portal
• Review, verify, and process quarterly Federal and State withholding and unemployment compensation reporting
• Enter and maintain records for equipment and pit materials
• Complete Certified Payroll reporting for state projects or others, as required
• Process year-end tax documents, including W-2s, W-3s, 940 FUTA, etc.
• Review and reconcile job costing records, as needed

Required skills and qualifications:

• Prior 2-4 years of experience in a payroll position is strongly preferred
• Prior experience in an office setting or A/P, A/R, accounting assistant/staff role
• Able to maintain strict confidentiality of employee and company information
• Ability to learn and navigate payroll software and systems
• Self-starter – able to work independently and take ownership of tasks
• Excellent attention to detail and time management
• Excited to work for a family-owned company on a tight-knit team
