As a Steelcase Authorized commercial furniture dealership, we collaborate with businesses and other designers to solve workplace problems and inspire innovation. We serve a variety of vertical markets, with a focus in workplace, education, and healthcare. We believe space can have a positive impact on people’s productivity and wellbeing.

We are looking for a Summer Interior Design Intern at our Omaha location. We seek a creative team player who is curious to gain experience in the commercial furniture industry. Responsibilities will include assistance with space planning, 3D drawing and rendering, product and material selection, client presentations, material library organization, and other tasks from concept to installation. Join our team this summer to gain valuable mentorship and experience in the interior design industry.

Learning Objectives

· Shadow designers throughout various stages of the design process

· Participate in site visits and client meetings

· Learn CET Commercial Interiors 3D modeling program for commercial furniture space planning and rendering

· Utilize CET to assist with design projects and reusable files for the design team

· Assist designers with various tasks in the design process:

o Assist with deliverables for client presentations

o Request COM and product quotes

o Order Finish Samples

o Product and material research and selection

o Bid support

· Participate in vendor meetings and internal training

· Organize and maintain the material library

· Perform other duties or special projects as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications

· Enrolled in an Interior Design degree program

· Experience in a 3D modeling program

· Strong self-motivation.

· Ability to work alone or as part of a team.

· A professional demeanor and appearance

· Strong problem solving and communication skills

· Strong attention to detail

· Initiative and ability to work without direct supervision

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products

· Some travel required between Eakes locations

· Current driver's license and good driving record
