We understand the need to be creative and flexible when it comes to telecommuting and other alternative work arrangements. This position is eligible for our hybrid remote work and will work in the Rockville, MDoffice four days per week.

Responsibilities

The Special Assets Portfolio Manager II manages a portfolio of primarily distressed commercial loan assets, underwrites loans and works with existing clients in support of one or more Workout Liquidation Officers, and the entire SAG team as required. Facilitates credit underwriting for modifications and extensions. Works with SAG team members, and other Bank departments to clear past dues, clear exceptions, review loan advances or pay downs and review borrowing bases.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or related field or 5 additional years of commercial credit or analysis.
  • Knowledge of varying credit structure types:
  • Business and Real Estate Secured Term loans
  • Contruction loans
  • Line of Credit
  • Letter of Credit
  • 5 years of experience in portfolio management and commercial underwriting including structuring and pricing loan transactions. Must be proficient in evaluating commercial credit risk and acute understanding of the components of commercial loan documents. Must be able to work autonomously with minimal oversight.
  • Formal or in-house credit training.
  • Bank Loan Documentation and Management Systems.
  • Proficient understanding of all aspects of commercial loan documents.
  • Proficient in evaluating commercial credit risk.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to handle high-stress situations often present with delinquent credits
  • Ability to work on multiple Workout Officer, SAG Management and Senior Management requests simultaneously.
  • Strong credit/underwriting knowledge.
  • Intermediate skill level MS Office products.

Preferences:

  • MBA or Master’s Degree.
  • Banking product knowledge.
  • Experience working with past due commercial credits
