Eagle Mountain Saginaw ISD is Hiring a Roof Inspector Near Saginaw, TX

Job Title: Roof Inspector Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt

Reports to: Operations Supervisor

Dept./School: Maintenance

Primary Purpose:
Under general supervision, maintain and repair school district roofing and roof-related issues. Also, will be responsible for water-proofing issues on all school district buildings. Maintain and provide for the safe condition and operation of all roof and roof drainage systems in district facilities.

Qualifications:
Education/Certification

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Texas driver’s license

Special Knowledge/Skills

  • Knowledge of roof systems and stay abreast of current roofing technology.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written material.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve problems.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to have good communication skills to staff, Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Director.
  • Ability to use computer and associated software, (Word, Excel, Eduphoria and other necessary programs).
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate

Experience

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Receive and make repairs from work orders.
2. Diagnose and repair malfunctions in various types of roof systems.
3. Diagnose and repair malfunctions in various types of roof drainage systems.
4. Diagnose and repair malfunctions regarding other water intrusion issues within the district.
5. Perform preventive maintenance task for all school district roofs within the district. Advise management regarding problems discovered during PM work.
6. Maintain an inventory of district owned tools, equipment and materials.
7. Maintain the equipment issued to him/her, keeping it clean and in good repair.
8. Respond to emergency calls as needed.

9. Maintain personal appearance at or above minimum standards of the school district’s dress code.
10. Promote high standards of safety and good housekeeping.

11. Maintain a spirit of cooperation and helpfulness with all school personnel and with the general public.

12. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing

13. Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Supervisor.

Working Conditions:
Physical Demands

  • Standing, walking, stooping, bending, kneeling for long periods of time.
  • Frequent lifting of 50 pounds.
  • Occasional prolonged or irregular hours may be required.

Environmental Factors

  • Exposure to extreme hot and/or cold weather.

Pay: $20.00 - $26.50 per hour
