Primary Purpose:

Follow routine cleaning procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations

Special Knowledge/Skills

• Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning and safety procedures.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift medium to heavy equipment.
• Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies.

Major Responsibilities and Duties: Maintain a cleaning schedule that will include cleaning of floors, whiteboards/chalkboards, wastebaskets, windows, furniture, equipment and restrooms.

• Cleaning of floors include: stripping, waxing and buffing all hard surface floors as per cleaning schedule. Buffing and shampooing carpets.
• Keep school buildings and grounds, including sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and play areas neat and clean.
• Assist with lunchroom set up, including arranging tables and chairs.
• Assist with setting up facility for special events.
• Remove and replace ceiling tiles if they become broken or dirty.
• Assist with the opening and closing of the building each school day.
• Promote high standards of safety and good housekeeping.
• Maintain a standard inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Remove and install broken soap and towel dispensers, and other items as required.
• Comply with local laws and procedures for storage and disposal of trash.
• High Schools and Middle School – maintain/clean the grounds in and around all athletic facilities. This includes the athletic fields, weights rooms, locker rooms, bleacher areas and press boxes.
• Maintain personal appearance at or above minimum standards of the school district's dress code.
• Maintain a spirit of cooperation and helpfulness with all school personnel and with the general public.
• Maintain the equipment issued to him/her, keeping it clean and in good repair.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Standing, walking, stooping, bending, kneeling for long periods of time
