Job Description :
As a Memory Care Activity Assistant , you will play a crucial role in improving the well-being of our residents by designing and implementing purposeful activities.
Your key responsibilities will include :
- Creating and facilitating a variety of sensory, cognitive, and social activities tailored to meet the needs of residents with memory impairments.
- Providing one-on-one and group support to enhance residents' cognitive abilities and emotional well-being.
- Collaborating with the Memory Care team to develop individualized activity plans based on residents' interests and abilities.
- Documenting residents' participation and reporting observations to the Memory Care Coordinator.
- Assisting in maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for residents.
- Participating in training programs related to memory care and dementia.
Memory Care Activity Assistant Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience working with individuals with memory impairments, preferably in a memory care setting.
- Compassion, patience, and the ability to connect with individuals with dementia.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certification in dementia care or related training is advantageous.
