DYNAMIC FAMILY MEDICINE, PLLC is Hiring a Medical Billing and Coding Specialist Near Colorado, CO

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team. As a Medical Biller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely billing for medical services. This position requires strong knowledge of medical coding, terminology, and billing systems.

Essential Job Functions

Note: Regular and reliable job attendance is an essential function in the performance of this job.

  • Willing to work with each team member to be crossed trained for reception. This position also requires answering phones along with 3 others.
  • Handling Accounts Receivable duties that include following up with all insurance carriers; accurately billing to insurance carriers and/or patients; processing claims in accordance with payer requirements and company protocol
  • Assisting with the collection of receivables by monitoring accounts receivables, checking claim status and resubmitting claims of overdue accounts, filing corrected claims or appeals and alerting supervisor of seriously overdue accounts
  • Verification of insurance and registration data for inpatient encounters.
  • Verification of billing charges to clinical documentation to ensure that all charges for procedures and supply items have been accurately documented and captured.
  • Posting patient and electronic and paper insurance remits
  • Maintaining complete and accurate medical billing and records/comments
  • Correcting claim and charge errors; follow-up on clinical documentation as appropriate
  • Sending correspondence to customers and patients in accordance with HIPAA regulations and various insurance carrier requirements
  • Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with patients, payers, team members, clients and any other stakeholders
  • Participate in educational programs and seminars to maintain current coding knowledge
  • Performing other specific projects as required or as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics

  • Working knowledge of computers and general software utilized in a business setting (Microsoft Office,Adobe PDF, Internet Browser, etc.).
  • Some knowledge of Credentialing and the desire to be trained in Medicare and Medicaid along with other contracted insurance companies.
  • Skills that allow you to work as a strong Team Member assisting where needed.
  • Attention to detail and willingness to think outside the box.
  • Excellent phone and customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize and multi-task different projects and claims
  • Strong Knowledge of appeal processes and the desire to see an appeal closed.
  • Strong Follow-up Skills on unpaid claims and the desire to see the claim paid.
  • Understanding of ICD-10 and CPT codes
  • Ability to learn specific state and federal billing and coding regulations
  • Ability to recognize and identify issues and risks and escalate issues to supervisor
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technology, processes and billing regulations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information and financial records
  • Ability to make good decisions, think independently, and work as a team player
  • Ability to accept constructive guidance and direction from peers
