Description

Perform Blending and Packaging housekeeping and sanitation functions as assigned and as required to meet State and Federal regulatory agency standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Operate and maintain floor scrubber.
2. Be trained to operate powered cleaning equipment, check equipment for problems prior to each use, and report problems to QA Manager.
3. Adhere to plant and departmental safety rules and ensure that hazardous materials are handled and/or disposed of properly.
4. Perform plant, office and grounds housekeeping and sanitation duties as scheduled using either mechanical or powered cleaning or service equipment. These duties include emptying trash barrels/bins, mopping, sweeping, or vacuuming floors, cleaning countertops, tables, windows, sinks, bathroom facilities using brooms, mops, vacuum hoses and cleaners.
5. Use cleaning supplies safely and efficiently.
6. Regular attendance on the job, dependability and reliability are required.
7. Read labels for proper use of cleaning chemicals/materials.
8. Vacuum dust and product off of machines.
9. Reports needs for major repairs to Maintenance Manager.
10. Responsible for sanitation of all equipment and cleaning of all areas in Production and Warehouse. Equipment includes machines, pumps, valves, and tanks. Areas for cleaning include ceilings, walls, and floors.
11. Maintains current knowledge of chemical safety for use of all chemicals used.
12. Mechanical ability required for break down and reassembling of all equipment during sanitation process.
13. Knowledge of safe work habits to ensure proper use of safety equipment provided.
14. Responsible for communicating and working well with fellow employees.

Qualifications

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Initiate request for cleaning and service supplies prior to stock out.
2. Maintain cleaning equipment in neat and orderly manner.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

1. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
2. Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions.
3. Ability to follow some routine, repetitive tasks.
4. Ability to maintain and operate powered cleaning and service equipment.
5. Ability to perform heavy physical work, exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 50 lbs. frequently, and up to 20 lbs. constantly, performing such activities as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, pinching and grasping.
6. Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work well with little supervision. Previous sanitation experience as well as mechanical ability desired. Must be able to work additional hours as needed.
