Durham Public Schools is Hiring a Speech Language Pathologist Coach (Secondary) Near Durham, NC
focused on secondary SLPs and speech-language services. SLP will beassigned direct student services part time and will serve as a coach for SLPs part time. Direct student services may cover leaves, vacancies&workload relief across the district include therapy and/or evaluations. SLP will: serve as coach/mentor to new SLPs&SLPs with performance needs; may serve as CFY Supervisor completing documentation, coaching,&observations for CF SLPs completing state/national licensing; use experience&expertise to model and share bestpractices; possess and demonstrate clinical competence in various school-based speech-language services and supports (AAC, multilingualism, deafness/hearing, feeding/mealtime participation, literacy, fluency/stuttering, voice, etc.); knowledgeable regardingvarious PK-12 formal&informal assessments; demonstrate proficiency in high school transitions and compliance (laws, policies, procedures regarding eligibility and IEP/PSSP development); demonstrate proficiency in workload management (screenings, evaluations,therapy, service delivery, scheduling, supports, consults, correspondence, etc.); demonstrate proficiency in written documentation (evaluation reports, therapy notes, correspondence, ECATS, etc.); facilitate SLP trainings and regularly scheduled small groupProfessional Learning Communities (PLCs); meet regularly and collaborate with Lead SLPs for planning and execution of professional development to meet departmental needs.
Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders (Speech-Language Pathology); licensed by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathologist and Audiologist; experience and expertisein informal and formal PK-12 communication assessments and service delivery for various population; knowledge and implementation of federal law, state policies and procedures and local processes; at least 3 years of experience in Durham Public Schools
