Durham Housing Authority is Hiring a Jobs Plus Program Manager Near Durham, NC

 

Summary

Under the general direction of the Director of Resident Services, the Jobs Plus Program Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Jobs Plus program. This program, and position, is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The Jobs Plus Initiative empowers residents of McDougald Terrace with employment-related services, supportive services and a community supports for work model to assist with navigating the difficulties of accessing services and assistance with life management.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee JPEID implementation and accurate reporting to HUD.
  • Develop and support positive professional relationship with Property Management.
  • Oversee employment and community programing.
  • Ensure the efficient implementation of program initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with community partners, employers, and stakeholders to facilitate program success.
  • Supervise and support program staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Design and implement strategies to enhance participant engagement and ensure successful program outcomes. 
  • Address participant concerns and provide conflict resolution when needed. 
  • Develop and deliver training sessions to enhance participants' employability skills. 
  • Stay informed about relevant industry trends, employment laws, and community resources to inform program development. 
  • Oversee the program staff to develop and maintain all relationships with agency partners and community stakeholders; coordinate outreach (marketing) activities including social media, website content, printed collateral, e-newsletter, and public announcements including press releases and meeting notices.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Social Work, or related Human Services degree, and five (5) years of experience of working in community outreach, case management, and service coordination, and a minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Must possess a valid NC State issued driver’s license and be insurable under the Authority’s plan.
