Durham City Transit Company is Hiring a Full-Time Bus Driver / Operator Near Durham, NC
- complete 12 months of employment;
- with work performance that is in good standing with no documented performance or safety issues; and
- who have worked 90% or more of their scheduled work hours.
- Effective 01 July 2023 starting hourly pay is $19.11 per hour. Hourly rate increases to $20.46 at 6 months of service.
- We offer regular increases to $29.00 per hour after 4 years of service.

- Abides by all safety, federal transit requirements, traffic regulations/laws as well as company policy/procedures.
- Properly completes all required paperwork to include manifests, pre/post-inspection checks, accident reports, and other applicable forms/reports. Uses sound judgment in following dispatch instructions, being able to recognize, create, and follow logical sequences for pick-up and drop-off of passengers in an efficient manner.
- Attends training classes with successful completion.
- Answers passenger questions politely and accurately, to include questions about service area, eligibility requirements, and fares.
- Ensures passengers' ride is comfortable and safe.
- Provides assistance to individuals as needed.
- Keeps current on the operation of all service routes.
