Overview: In this role, you will work closely with our Drivers and be responsible for assisting with the delivery and merchandising of Coca-Cola products, helping to ensure excellent service to our customers.

The Driver Assistant is responsible for delivery of product, unloading product from truck, checking in product with account, merchandising, and rotating product at assigned customers. Assists the vehicle operator in a safe and courteous manner and works safely without injury to self or others.

Major Responsibilities:

• Provide support to Drivers on assigned route
• Unload merchandise
• Display and rotate products according to Company standards
• Maintain back rooms by organizing and consolidating back stock in a safely accessible way within the assigned loading dock area
• Provide excellent customer service & maintain customer relationships
• Retrieve Company property & assets as needed

  Additional:

• This position is highly active and requires constant standing, walking, pushing, and pulling. While performing the duties of this job. As a result, they should expect a fast-paced production environment and willfrequently lift and/or move items up to 60 pounds. (Moving equipment and tools will be provided to reduce strains and injury.)
• Requires the ability to lift 60 lbs. repetitively. Able to reach and lift above shoulders and below waist. Ability to operate electric pallet jack, move pallets weighing up to 1,200 lbs., and maneuver in tight spots. Able to push and pull fully loaded carts weighing up to 1,000 lbs. up and down a 20% slope.
• The role will have occasional to frequent twisting, grasping, reaching, bending, kneeling, sitting, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing will be required.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• To accomplish tasks, the position will need to work around a variety of weather environments (i.e. sun, rain, sleet, rain, snow, excessive cold & heat).
• The role is considered a safety sensitive position.
• Work hours: 4:00am until route is complete, 4x10 hour days ranging Mon - Sat.Work weekends and holidays as directed by the business and help cover other lead shifts as needed.
• Additional or alternative days/times may be occasionally needed, depending on customer and/or promotional campaign.

Experience & Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to obtain Class A CDL license
• Ability to obtain DOT Medical card
• Prior grocery store or consumer product retail experience preferred
• Operate manual/ powered pallet jack or hand truck
• Team-player attitude
• Excellent customer service communication skills in order to interact with customers. Must maintain professional appearance with customers which upholds Durango Coca-Cola’s brand image
• Ability to read and follow directions and work orders
• Ability to follow all safety requirements/protocols
• Flexible with the ability to adapt to varying situations
