Reporting to the University Archivist, the Associate Archivist/Curator willprocess and maintain archival collections, create finding aids, assist withpreservation activities, maintain subject files, perform some clerical dutiesand assist patrons and visitors. The Associate Archivist/Curator will assistthe University Archivist with special projects, research, exhibits, and otherassignments as needed. The part-time Associate Archivist will work 21 hours aweek, Monday-Friday, between the hours of 8:30 a.m.to 5:30 p.m. or at speciallyscheduled times.DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Arranges and describes archival collections from individual schools,departments, and committees.
Prepares finding-aids and otherresearch tools for processed collections.
Provides reference or retrievalassistance for patrons requesting archival information. Patrons may visit theArchives or make requests by phone, e-mail or fax.
Assists with the preservation ofdocuments, books, photographs, artifacts, and other materials.
Helps to design exhibits and displaysfor special events in the Library and on the university Campus.
Supervises Graduate student internsand temporary employees and assist with grant writing.
Assists with large research projects.
Completes otherduties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:

The candidateshould possess a Master’s Degree in Public History, Art History or LibraryScience with a specialization in Archives or Museum Studies or equivalent
Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination ofexperience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilitiesrequired to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is notlimited to, the following:
Strong interpersonal, written and communication skills are required. Thecandidate must be able to learn and perform assigned tasks with littlesupervision and be able to work cooperatively with colleagues, staff, studentsand patrons.
