DuPont Water and Protection is seeking to hire a W&P Global Packaging Leader to establish a consistent strategy and execution plan for managing product packaging requirements across all W&P lines of business.

This position will work closely with each Line of Business (LOB) packaging team along with Integrated Operations leadership to assess new packaging regulations, determine how each LOB will respond to specific country packaging and labelling regulations, and continuously improve sustainability, product quality, and cost associated with product packaging.

The W&P Global Packaging Leader will also work with each LOB to establish and implement packaging management work processes and provide regular updates to leadership regarding potential opportunities and threats related to packaging.

The successful candidate will have previous packaging and leadership experience and will be highly motivated, collaborative, and a strong communicator.

Your key responsibilities :

Serve as Packaging single point of contact for W&P Integrated Operations to ensure regulatory compliance and alignment with business strategies.

Drive W&P Integrated Operations Packaging Teams to further develop and improve product packaging standards, strategies, compliance, and standardization across all LOBs.

Drive packaging engineering, operations, and compliance activities. Provide ongoing support to the LOB Packaging Teams, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Legal, and Logistics.

Develop a Packaging Change Management process and support LOB teams in delivering % compliance with packaging change management.

Monitor the packaging landscape and provide Integrated Operations leadership with regular briefings on and recommendations for responses to potential opportunities and threats.

Facilitate effective collaboration between multiple stakeholders including Operations, Business Leadership, Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), Procurement, Product Stewardship, Legal, Supply Chain, Engineering, and third-party suppliers and consultants.

Lead subject matter expert packaging engineers in support of W&P businesses. Manage project priorities to ensure appropriate and timely allocation of engineering resources.

Work with packaging engineers to understand new / emerging packaging technologies that support business goals and objectives while meeting existing and new regulations.

Responsible for renewing, retaining, and developing the packaging engineering competency across W&P.

Proactive planning for succession, retention, and development of packaging engineers.

Collaborate with packaging industry associations, vendors, partners to identify and establish relationships to facilitate exchange of best practices and knowledge sharing.

May include attending industry events and networking opportunities, coordinating joint activities and initiatives, and managing on-going relationships with relevant stakeholders.

Continuous improvement of our processes for managing and improving packaging.

Evaluate and eliminate non-value-adding programs.

Assess and mitigate packaging risks to the business.

Work with company IT teams to utilize existing programs and implement new tools to effectively manage data related to packaging specifications, materials, quantities, etc for all products across all W&P businesses.

Develop a central management system for maintaining up-to-date packaging specifications for all packaging elements.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Chemical, Mechanical, or Packaging preferred.

Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in product packaging preferred.

Minimum 15 years’ experience in manufacturing including at least 3 years in leadership position(s).

Demonstrated background in regulatory compliance including interpretations and action planning.

Business judgement - Awareness, understanding, and navigation of our business to enable improvement or development of solutions in your role that improve our business and our customers’ experience.

Takes responsibility for actions; communicates with transparency; recovers from mistakes; owns their impact.

Ability to multi-task and prioritize complex workload.

Ability to meet commitments, troubleshoot and solve problems.

Ability to work independently, as well as in a collaborative manner in a multidisciplinary team.

Excellent communication skills (written and oral) : give clear direction, strong negotiation skills, ability to confront difficult and adverse situations with a calm and collaborative approach.

Ability to travel up to 20%.

Six Sigma Green or Black belt certification preferred.
