Position Summary
Provides computational support for Duke University Libraries’ mission of partnering with campus researchers. Develops new features and applications, while maintaining existing platforms and keeping software components updated to current releases. Participates in Agile development teams and consults with partners and stakeholders on digital initiatives. Acts as lead developer for selected software projects.

Qualifications

Education:
Required: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Preferred: Advanced degree in computer science, information science, or related field.
Experience:
Required: At least three years of professional experience developing and implementing technology projects.
Preferred:At least five years of experience working in production-oriented software development. Demonstrated ability to develop software architecture to support research in higher education. Experience with cloud-based architectures such as AWS or Azure, and container orchestrations systems such as Kubernetes. Experience with at least three programming languages. Experience with software lifecycle management, automated testing, continuous integration, containerization, monitoring, and version control systems.

Salary and Benefits
Salary dependent on qualifications and experience; anticipated salary range $100,000-$120,000. Comprehensive benefits package includes 15 days vacation, 14 holidays, 12 days sick leave; health, dental, disability and life insurance and support for professional development and training.
