Position Summary

Provide financial management activities of the Children’s Clinical Research Unit (CCRU) within the Department of Pediatrics. This includes assisting the CCRU Financial Practice Manager (FPM) with the overall financial oversight of the CCRU and its portfolio.

Responsibilities

· Identify and claim sponsor wires with University Cashier and Accounts Receivable departments. This includes working with sponsor to receive remittance, as well as making sure the amounts are accurately applied to the correct study and invoice.

· Also, deposit sponsor checks for the Children’s Clinical Research Unit (CCRU). This includes entering the check in a central log, match check to invoice, preparing or reviewing the deposit form, and submitting the deposit to the appropriate institutional office.

· Manage the Clincard program, including but not limited to, building applicable new studies in Greenphire system, approve payments, and distribute cards to study teams.

· Assist with the preparation of invoices using standard templates and processes, track invoice payments from sponsors in comparison to milestone payments, and follow up with sponsors on outstanding payments. Keep Children’s Clinical Research Unit (CCRU) leadership abreast of status and issues.

· Prepare and process journal entries for the Children’s Clinical Research Unit (CCRU).

· Review and process clinical research transactions, as a fund source approver for Buy@Duke and Concur. This includes reviewing the transaction for adherence to Department and institutional policies, along with a technical review of the transaction.

· Perform other duties as needed.

Skills:

Strong finance acuity, communications skills, and proficiency with Excel. Prefer someone with strong SAP skills.

Education/Training:

Work generally requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics or a related business field.

Experience:

Work generally requires two years of experience in accounting or finance reporting OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
