Overview: Play a critical role in keeping our crews operational as a Field Service Technician for Duininck Concrete. Opportunity to travel to locations in a company service truck to perform routine maintenance and repairs on company rolling assets such as semi tractors, tandems, tridems, ready mix trucks, forklifts and other. The position is a year-round position.
Responsible for:
Operate and inspect all models of vehicles, equipment, and components to determine needed repairs.
Inspecting equipment in question and diagnosing the issues.
Consult with lead mechanic to provide solutions for repairs and complete repairs in the field when possible.
Time management and organizational skills as well as hand-eye coordination
Must be a team player and follow directions, and guidance from management.
Overnight travel is possible on a rare occasion.
Review and stay current on equipment manuals, service bulletins and other resources; attend training sessions.
Assist with ordering parts, materials and supplies needed for repair and maintenance.
Record work performed, time and materials used for each job.
Operate a variety of hand and power tools, equipment, motor vehicles and heavy equipment.
Maintain orderliness, cleanliness, and safety.
Must be self-motivated and able to plan for future preventative maintenance schedules.
What we look for:
An aptitude for mechanical diagnosis and repair
Demonstrated experience with servicing vehicles.
Basic computer skills
Valid CDL Class B Preferred
Basic math skills.
Read and understand documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Speak effectively with customers or employees.
Stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, stoop, crouch, crawl, stretch, sit, reach, and grasp.
Physical Requirements:
Lift up to 50 pounds.
Extended work hours
Work indoors in variety of weather conditions.
Work with gasoline and diesel engines, electrical motors.
Work with vibration.
Working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
