IT TECHNICIAN

BASIC FUNCTION

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated IT Technician to join our team. As an IT Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing technical support and assistance to our employees and clients. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

a) Reports to: Manager of IT

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deskside Support: Provide on-site technical assistance to end-users, ensuring their hardware and software issues are promptly addressed, including desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
  • Helpdesk Support: Act as the first point of contact for incoming IT support requests via phone, email, or ticketing system. Respond to inquiries and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Application Support: Troubleshoot and resolve software-related problems for both off-the-shelf and proprietary applications, assisting users with software installations and configurations.
  • Printer Support: Maintain and troubleshoot printers, scanners, and other imaging devices, ensuring proper functionality and resolving any print-related issues.
  • Learning and Adaptability: Embrace a proactive approach to learning and staying updated on new technologies, tools, and industry trends. Adapt and acquire skills as needed to provide comprehensive IT support.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of IT processes, issues, and solutions to enhance knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Hardware and Software Inventory Management: Assist in managing hardware and software inventory, including asset tracking, procurement, and disposal.
  • Network Connectivity: Troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues, assisting users with internet and network access problems.
  • Collaborate with IT Team: Work closely with other IT team members to escalate and resolve complex technical problems efficiently.
  • Assist with Event setups, including, but not limited to, Audio, Video, and Microphones.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: A degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Relevant experience and certifications will be considered.
  • Technical Proficiency: Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS, or Linux), and software applications.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with end-users and conveying technical information.
  • Customer Service: A customer-centric approach with the ability to provide empathetic and professional support to users of varying technical backgrounds.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrated problem-solving abilities to analyze and diagnose technical issues, proposing appropriate solutions.
  • Time Management: Excellent time management skills to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team Player: A collaborative mindset with the ability to work well within a team and contribute to a positive and productive work atmosphere.
  • Must be willing to work some nights, weekend, and handle an on-call rotation.
