As an Associate Director of Kubernetes Governance and Security, you will lead a team responsible for improving the governance and security of DTCC’s Kubernetes environment. The team of SME’s collaborates with other IT SMEs, Architecture Review Board (ARB) members, Business Partners, TRM, and partners at all levels of the organization to ensure the continuous knowledge transfer and heightening our Enterprise Kubernetes Governance process. This role requires the ability to quickly develop an in-depth knowledge of DTCC’s governance, standards and policies, ARB, and system delivery processes. 

Your Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead the team responsible for developing technical processes and designs considering reliability, data integrity, governance, and security
  • Estimate total costs of projects covering both hours and expense
  • Partner with multi-functional teams to ensure the success of product strategy and project work
  • Guide the team to contribute Kubernetes security and governance to ensure a secure, compliant, and resilient platform
  • Develop and maintain a security governance framework for Kubernetes and containers.
  • Build and lead tabletop exercises with Technology Risk Management.
  • Influence ecosystem partners for security monitoring, secrets management, certificate management, zero-trust, etc
  • Build and supervise of key risk indicators and key governance indicators.
  • Envision, lead and guide the development of overall security governance framework with TRM.
  • Support audit and regulatory needs by identifying and proactively remediating potential findings, mitigating risks, and providing reports that summarize potential impact
  • Encourage and accept positive change and influence others to adapt to change by demonstrating the execution of new concepts and ways of working
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills with a special emphasis on two-way communication - hearing feedback and articulating reasoning for changes
  • Demonstrate reliability and be accountable for completion of assigned projects, processes, and programs by taking vital actions to continuously meet required deadlines and goals
  • Be a critical thinker who can proactively identify potential Kubernetes governance process improvements by studying current practices and business functions, capturing information, evaluating output requirements, and designing modifications
  • Provide leadership and handles all aspects of team management, including the development of employees
  • Ensure team's alignment to departmental and interpersonal policy and procedures
  • Mitigates risk by following established procedures and monitoring controls, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.
  • Collaborate with multiple collaborators to discuss program goals 
  • Status reporting and presentations 
  • Identify and handle critical path while supervising risk, issues, and customer concerns 
  • Support the execution of spend management and cost analysis
  • Mitigate risk by following established procedures and monitoring controls, spotting key errors, and demonstrating strong ethical behavior
  • A prime candidate is proactive, has the ability to multitask and work autonomously to support multiple teams and initiatives.

Talents Needed For Success:
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience crafting and managing a team of Container Security authorities
  • Certified Information System Security Professional 
  • Minimum of 6 years of Governance and Security experience
  • Expertise in threat management
  • Expertise with container and orchestration solutions to include Kubernetes
  • Experience with using and handling continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipeline solutions
  • Experience with site reliability engineering, production systems, administration, network engineering, or cloud automation
  • Experience with protecting cloud platforms, including AWS, network, and container workloads
  • Experience in container security processes and technologies, including AquaSec
  • Knowledge in Kubernetes security
  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity concepts, including threats, vulnerabilities, security operations, encryption, boundary defense, auditing, and authentication
  • Knowledge of secure configuration guidelines, including CIS benchmarks
