SUMMARY

The Quality and Training Supervisor is a visible leadership and development role. This individual is responsible for quality and training. The Quality and Training Supervisor will report to the site General Manager. This role supports compliance with quality requirements, local continuous improvement activities, document control, training programs and FDA activities. He/She will also ensure that the operation adheres to the overall corporate mission, vision and core values while consistently meeting client and company expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains compliance to international, industry, and customer-specific quality standards
  • Manages and communicates change control processes to all departments.
  • Responsible for coordination of external auditing plus maintaining the internal quality audit system.
  • Assists in implementation and monitoring of the company quality systems including, but not limited to, compliance with the following standards: ISO 9001:2008 and Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Assists in establishment, implementation and evaluation of quality management systems metrics.
  • Maintains and improves quality by investigating customer complaints, performing root cause analysis, driving corrective actions and verifying effectiveness.
  • Manages customer driven continual improvement roadmaps.
  • Develops and conducts training on the quality system and other related topics.
  • Oversees document control; updating, creating, obsoleting and publishing controlled documents including sending change notifications to effected parties/department and follows up on the Quality Management System. Ensuring external documents such as customer requirements and regulatory requirements are current.
  • Develops and implements administrative systems including record management, traceability, and trend reporting.
  • Monitor, measure, and report in staff training and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and time.
  • Conduct and supervise training and development programs for employees.
  • Ensure site quality and training programs meet all regulatory, DSV and client requirement.
  • Ensure site programs are audit ready to meet client and 5-Star (DSV) requirements.
  • Ensure all training information is entered into Quality database.
  • Engage in managing Continuous Improvement/Lean projects, training, coaching, and mentoring the distribution center via the Quality Improvement Team (QIT).
  • Approves, reviews, and monitors Quality Assurance Standard Operating Procedures: provide training as required.
  • Establishes effective lines of communication and feedback with Operational Leadership to ensure prompt attention and resolution of conditions that adversely affect quality of throughput.
  • Owner of Work Instructions. Conducts audits of every quality element and SOP's to verify compliance with established procedures. Assist site with establishing corrective action plans and follow up for completion.
  • Reviews, revises and approves company procedures to ensure continual growth opportunities and Work Instructions are maintained.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • 2 years' experience in quality, training and warehousing
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

Computer Skills

  • Must be proficient in Warehouse Management Systems
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Power Point) and Quality Systems

Language Skills

  • English (reading, writing, verbal)

Mathematical Skills

  • Intermediate

PREFERRED QUALIFICATONS

  • 4-Year College Degree preferred, will consider equivalent experience or combination of education and experience
  • 3PL management experience strongly preferred
  • Six Sigma Certifications
  • Understanding of FDA regulations, GMP and HACCP preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.Working conditions are normal for a warehouse environment. Exposure to changing warehouse temperature is possible
