Summary

The role of Lead SIGINT Instructor entails working under the Training Manager to research, develop, and teach courses on SIGINT operations. The Lead SIGINT Instructor is responsible for delivering academic instruction on software, equipment, and methods and works closely with customers to discuss industry trends and tactics to maintain training relevance. This position involves collaboration with the Course Development team to develop, validate, and coordinate training plans while providing feedback and recommendations to the Training Manager. The Lead SIGINT Instructor serves as a liaison between the instructor team and the Training Manager and oversees the onboarding, training, professional development, and supervision of instructors to ensure that program-related and administrative tasks are executed efficiently. Furthermore, the Lead SIGINT Instructor is responsible for coordinating all course equipment requirements with the Field Service Representative to ensure the successful execution of the course. Finally, the Lead SIGINT Instructor will ensure compliance with the DS Technologies Employee Handbook for themselves and their teams.

Essential Functions

1. Undertakes supervisory responsibilities, including reviewing and approving instructor timecards and flex-time, creating Weekly Activity Reports, and overseeing PTO, among other administrative duties.
2. Ensures that courses are delivered in compliance with the approved Syllabus and Training Support Plan.
3. Delivers instruction, instructional assistance, and appropriate scenario development support for intelligence personnel, teams, and units involved in SIGINT operations.
4. Assists the Course Development Team in revising the curriculum, student guides, exams, and practical exercises.
5. Chairs the course hotwash and ensures that course deliverables are completed by the prescribed deadline.
6. Provides support as requested for modular and ad-hoc events scheduled by the customer.
7. Convenes regular meetings with their team to offer guidance and constructive feedback to ensure the team is aligned and working towards a common goal.
8. Responsible for overseeing the Instructor Certification Program to ensure that all instructors are properly trained and certified in accordance with the required standards.
9. Obtains all necessary customer-mandated certifications to ensure the training program is fully compliant and meets the highest quality standards.
10. Provides mentorship to potential and former students while fostering strong relationships with the customer at the squadron level.
11. Furnishes the FSR with data on equipment mean time between failures and troubleshooting steps to facilitate maintenance and guarantee equipment operability for course execution.
12. Prompt & Regular Attendance.

Supervisory Responsibility

The Lead SIGINT Instructor assumes the role of the immediate supervisor for SIGINT Instructors, carrying out duties that include performance management and hiring of SIGINT Instructors.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with a one hour unpaid lunch. However, frequent evening and weekend shifts may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Travel may be required as requested by customer. Traveling includes overnight stays and outside of normal working locations.

Required Education and Experience

1. Five years of experience as SIGINT Instructor collection and targeting experience.
2. 8 years of experience with Special Operations Forces (SOF).
3. Working knowledge of the SIGINT Enterprise.

Preferred Education and Experience

1. Associate degree with an Engineering focus.
2. Instructor certification. 
3. Mode certification.

4. Must hold or be able to obtain a DOD Top Secret level clearance (at minimum).
5. Must be able to obtain a passport.
6. Must pass a DOT/FAA-regulated drug screening.
7. Must be able to obtain an FAA Class III Flight Physical.
