JOB DESCRIPTION: The fixed asset manager position is responsible for recording the cost of newly-acquired fixed assets, tracking existing fixed assets, recording depreciation and disposition of fixed assets. In addition, the fixed asset accountant position is responsible for filing and maintaining certain store-level applications, permits, licenses, etc. Responsibilities Monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recording of fixed assets Manage a small team and implement process improvements Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts, and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed Track company expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the capital budget and management authorizations Reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledger Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts, document business transactions, and complete corresponding reconciliations Prepare and analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, capital, income and expenses Prepare, complete and oversee month-end close processing ensuring that all deadlines are met in accordance with the established closing dates Review, investigate and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents and reports Utilize appropriate systems and tools to input data, generate reports, conduct specialized research projects and respond to inquiries Communicate and coordinate with auditors to satisfy their requests for information in a timely manner Develop and maintain fixed asset processes and policies in the field for company owned locations Qualifications: BS Degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience Strong leadership skills. 2 years experience leading a team. Strong analytical and quantitative skills Strong excel skills Experience with Fixed Asset software (Sage, Oracle, SAP, etc.) Experience obtaining and analyzing data from ERP and database management systems (MAS500 experience preferred, but not required) Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Ability to solve unstructured business and accounting problems and lead multiple priorities Candidate should have strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well on a team and a positive disposition.
